Talking About Commas: Songs/Lyrics

Cows in a Castle

(Talking About Commas)
Connelly
While travelling in Northern Ireland I came upon a farm with a defunct castle that was in the middle of the pasture. It is now the home to some cows. Lyrically, the song has nothing to do with that. Just makes for an interesting title...
The clouds are slowly nearing, the cows are laying down
The breeze is brisk but weary, she’s nowhere to be found
I miss your breasts, the most comfort I’ve known
When my head’s upon your chest I can pretend I am home
I hear she’s reconnecting with the men of “the good land”
a broken smile is cracked as she pulls back her hand
I guess I had it comin’, too good to be true
The prison guard was right, the air of freedom can choke you

I lived along a coastline once upon a time
with waves endlessly crashing my innocence was gone
In came the producer, out went my best friend
She was like my sister always with a man
Separation provides mystery, we grow when we’re apart
Barnacles are parasites, at least their job is not hard
The was the first chance of renewal, the last we’ve ever talked
At the time I was happy but she saw right through my facade

If you’re looking for the best thing that I have ever seen
You can quote me in the message that I sent to Dairy Queen
She was like a movie that you like until the end
because you knew where it was going until it actually happened
I’m living in my castle that I built with jealousy
She’s living in the hustle of life with company
Her lips met mine just once, the best I’ve ever known
I see her picture daily, a face that used to glow
